Hannon Lerner P.C.

Litigation

Hannon Lerner has experienced litigators available to consult with private parties, businesses, and government agencies confronted with litigation. Our attorneys have the benefit of skill, experience, and a demonstrated commitment to the hard work necessary to provide effective representation in complex litigation.

The firm handles a broad array of cases before the state and federal courts and administrative bodies, including personal injury, contract, ERISA, employers' liability, consumer protection, insurance, adverse possession, timber trespass, land use, criminal and civil rights.

Personal Injury Law

In representing personal injury clients, Hannon Lerner is a lawyer's firm. Many of our personal injury clients are referred to us by other attorneys. Our attorneys are also available for direct consultations with injured clients and their families. Consultations for personal injury claims are free, and representation is typically undertaken on a "contingency fee" basis. This means that the firm will assume the costs of pursuing a claim, and will recover a fee only if there is a settlement, judgment, or other award.

Insurance is oftentimes available to compensate you if you are injured by the acts of another person. However, it is important to hire a firm familiar with dealing with insurance companies, as there are often procedural requirements that must be met to perfect a claim.

Wills and Estate Planning

As one of Southern Berkshire County's oldest law firms, Hannon Lerner has represented clients in the planning and administration of estates for generations. Although many people often delay in making arrangements for their death or disablement, few can deny the importance of consulting with an attorney capable of assisting with the broad range of considerations governing wills and estate planning. Clients may wish to make arrangements for their children in the event of an accident, health care proxies for medical treatment, powers of attorney appointments to manage property, and, of course, arrangements for disposition of property. In this regard, proper estate planning will assist families in a time of dire need. Our experienced attorneys are committed to providing clients with counsel in this important task.

Zoning and Land Use

Hannon Lerner has a well-established tradition of representing both private and municipal clients in zoning and land use matters. The firm currently represents diverse Towns located throughout Berkshire County, working daily with Town officials presented with the often complex issues presented in municipal planning, zoning, and land use. Hannon Lerner’s extensive work in these areas offers clients the advantage of knowledge and experience in this complex area of the law.
